On two Diferent paragraph give your opinion to Chantriel Lattimore and Brenda Windham

Chantriel Lattimore

There are a lot of organizations that are out there to help get our healthcare to where it should be when it comes to quality. Reporting the data for healthcare organizations is a big thing for consumers to be able to view to make sure that where they plan to go has good ratings and are up to par for the quality they wish to receive. The National Committee for Quality Assurance is one of the oldest and well known organizations that does public reporting and also provide quality performance measures. Others who are also on this list of organizations that report data are places like the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the National Quality Forum (NQF) who promotes what the standard quality should be in a facility. The NQF also provides the quality performance measures along with organizations such as the American Medical Association (AMA), Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), The Joint Commission (TJC) and Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC). Among these organizations there are some as already mentioned that also provide a service to help meet quality performance improvements. Some of the other organizations on this list include the American Medical Association's Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement (PCPI) and the Agency for Healthcare and Research Quality (AHRQ). These organizations help get facilities to the expectations and performance they are in need of reaching and maintaining for the benefit of patients.

Reporting strategies often target audiences like the general public, whose behavior is not readily changed by the information in reporting, When it comes to effectively targeting groups that can actually use the data to achieve significant impact, one stands out from the rest. We notice that health system manager and providers who interpret and apply performance data to improve the quality of care of their organization level.Evidence behind performance reporting was recently summarized in a special subsidiaries, produced by Canadian Health Services Research Foundation to showcase healthcare issues research indicated as a preferred course of action.

When it comes to using results to make improvements, process of care indicators are often more useful then outcome indicators. Reporting agencies can adopt and adapt the best practice from top performers, while working with low performers to improve care. Like Cancer Care, which feeds data on a wait time back to organization all across the providence. (Wallace et. al 2007). This will help make quality improvement performance care. Making sure reporting organization consult with stakeholders to ensure report U.S. studies are looking at reporting stimulates quality improvement activities have found to be effective, reporting is more than about accountability.

Performance leads to quality improvement and improvement in healthcare services and their outcome, and the delivery of care that are directed at people at the organizational level.

Discussion: Memory, Cognition, and Cognitive Neuroscience

During the late 1960s and early 1970s, cognitive psychology researchers conducted studies that offered new information about how memory is stored and processed. Findings suggested that memory is first encoded based on sensory data from the environment (sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell), moved to short-term memory, where it can be easily retrieved, and, when rehearsed (i.e., repeated thinking about the memory), moved to long-term memory, where it is stored and can be retrieved at a later date (Atkinson & Shiffrin, 1968; Craik & Lockhart, 1972).

The basic structural information about memory that arose from these early studies, along with the emergence of brain imaging technology, has led to major advancements in our understanding of cognition and cognitive neuroscience. For example, there is a body of literature on the association between PTSD and memory dysfunction. Traumatic memories are thought to be encoded differently than other memories, which helps explain symptoms such as flashbacks, nightmares, and anxiety. In addition, experiencing a traumatic event and then consistently reliving it through flashbacks and nightmares can damage the hippocampus, the area of the brain responsible for memory encoding, leading to deficits in short-term memory (Hays, VanElzakker, & Shin, 2012; MacIntosh & Whiffen, 2005). Fortunately, exciting new research on neuroplasticity suggests that the brain is malleable and that it is possible to reverse the damage to certain parts of the brain (Kays, Hurley, & Taber, 2012).

In this discussion, you will examine other studies on memory and consider how the findings contribute to our understanding of cognition and cognitive neuroscience.

Mr. D. is 47 years old and was diagnosed with colon cancer 2 years ago. He had not gone to the doctor until he was in severe pain. Mr. D. does not like doctors or hospitals. When diagnosed he decided to have surgery even though he did not want it. He did it only because he thought it would ease his pain. He refused the radiation and chemotherapy that his doctor thought was needed after surgery. His wife was very upset because she knew that if he had the follow up treatment his chances of survival would improve. She is a breast cancer survivor of 8 years. Mr. D.'s cancer has now spread to his pancreas and his pain has returned. It is so severe that he is not able to work any longer as a landscaper for the city. He loved his job and misses not having the life he was used to. The doctor believes that chemotherapy might still be of some value to extend his life as Mr. D. refuses further surgery. They have three children with two living at home. One child is 10 years old and the other is 14. The 10 year old has asthma and lately he has been having many more acute attacks. The 14 year old has been acting out and Mrs. D. thinks she is taking drugs. Mrs. D. works only part-time as a secretary and would rather not have to work full-time. Mr. D.'s insurance has been covering the family's medical expenses. You have been asked to case manage this client and his family.
In this Laboratory assignment you will be focusing on the following:

  1. Case management – Develop an initial assessment as the first step to a case management plan. What issues will need to be considered to manage this case? Focus on what resources he might need now that he is not working. Consider what other health care personnel will be important resources. How will his medical expenses be paid?
  2. Transitional Care – What type of transitional care might be needed? Will he need to go back to the hospital? What other healthcare facilities might be helpful?
  3. Palliative Care – What approach should be taken to manage his pain? What types of pain management methods might work? In what ways can Mr. D. achieve "quality of life"?
  4. Therapeutic Communication – Focus on engagement. What are his concerns and worries?
  5. Family Support – What support and resources can you provide this family? What role can the wife play that will be helpful. What resources and care might be provided for the children?

On two separate paragraph give your personal opinion to Ryan Stuck and Tanyka Timmons

Ryan Stuck

There isn’t an industry that doesn’t rely heavily on efficient financial management but within the healthcare industry it is vitally important because of the already high cost of medical care in this country. Unless costs can be kept reasonable, patients and insurance companies are left to pay higher amounts.“The primary role of financial management in healthcare organizations is to manage money and risk in a way that helps to achieve the financial goals of the organization” (Nowicki, 2015). Currently as Director of Assisted Living I am thinking about finance in the fact that all of the tenants whose care I oversee are paying privately for their care at the facility and every year we raise our prices. Are we going to become too expensive to be affordable for the community? On the other side I am considering financial costs to run the facility for example, utilities, up keep and paying staff.  There are times throughout the year that audits are utilized to make sure that money is being billed and collected as it should be so that funds are available to meet the needs of the facility.

Tanyka Timmons

The role of finance in healthcare is in my opinion is the center of operational flow. Financing is how healthcare organizations operate and function. Financing ensures healthcare staff is compensated, it maintains supply and demand and also accounts for budget/spending. Finance in healthcare dictates how large or small a healthcare entity can be; whether it be a private single physician office or one of the largest hospitals in the nation the determining factor is the finances needed to operate big or small.

In the future I aspire to become VP for the Medical Services division of my current organization. I would utilize financial information in an effort to improve budget and spending trends by decreasing current goals in order to utilize finances toward more community projects and enhancements

As a patient the majority of my finance in healthcare knowledge is primarily through doctor visits, insurance carrier choices at enrollment time every year and making payments for services rendered that my insurance did not cover; outside of those encounters I’ve been blessed to not have to experience major health issues that required major financial major planning

Case study

Instructions

For this assignment, you will first review the following case study:

A textile manufacturer is closing its North Carolina plant and moving the production of its products to a developing nation in Southeast Asia. The primary reason for the move is because the lower labor cost will allow the organization to benefit from the new location.
Proponents of the decision laud the move as a means to save the organization by taking advantage of the free market and finding cheaper methods of producing the company's goods.
Opponents of the decision state that a trust existed between the company and the employees and that a breach of trust will occur due to this decision. Additionally, opponents cite recent findings that contractors in the Southeast Asia region, where the company is moving, have been cited for utilizing child labor and failing to provide working conditions equivalent to those in the United States.
Officials in the Southeast Asia region have answered the criticisms of the use of child labor by pointing out that oftentimes children are the only individuals in a family who are capable of working, and to deny them that opportunity would create even greater hardships on the already desperately poor population.

Next, review the article by Peslak (2005), and reflect on what you have learned about deontological (actions focused) and teleological (consequences focused) frameworks.

Peslak, A. R. (2005). An ethical exploration of privacy and radio frequency identification. Journal of Business Ethics, 59(4), 327-345. Retrieved from https://libraryresources.columbiasouthern.edu/login?url=https://search-proquest-com.libraryresources.columbiasouthern.edu/docview/198203994?accountid=33337

For this assignment, you will now write a paper that discusses whether this move discussed in the case study is ethical from the perspective of ONE of the following stakeholders:

  • workers in North Carolina,
  • stockholders (owners), or
  • workers in Asia.

Utilize the CSU Online Library to locate two sources to use as references to support your paper. Your paper should be two to three pages in length.

Be sure to include the rubric elements from the guidelines below:

  • The analysis should present an insightful and thorough discussion with strong arguments and evidence.
  • The content should be highly relevant and informative while remaining on topic.
  • Accuracy and close attention to detail should be clearly evident in all parts of the assignment.
  • The writing should be clear and concise with proper sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation, and it should be free from spelling errors.
  • The number of sources should meet or exceed assignment requirements, and all sources should be academically credible and properly cited using APA formatting.
