You will visit an art museum of your choice. You may visit one in person or take a virtual tour via the Internet. Below is a list of museums that offer virtual tours that you may want to review for this assignment. Please note that you are not limited to this list:

For this essay, write about two artworks from these periods: Renaissance, Baroque, Impressionist, or Post-Impressionist periods.

For each piece, address the following:

* Include the title, artist, date, medium, and scale.

* Describe the artwork.

* Describe the artist's role in his or her society/community.

* What do you think is the artist's message?

* What are the cultural significances of this piece?

* What historical elements are included in this piece?

Formatting:

Your essay will be at least five pages in length and include the following:

* Title page (1 page)

* Written Essay (2 pages)

* Image(s) (1 page)

* References (1 page)

Use Times New Roman 12- point font. Double space all lines, and indent the first line of each paragraph. Your title page should be correctly formatted with a Running Head and page number listed in the Header area. Include your title, name, and school centered on the title page. Your written essay should contain at least three paragraphs (including an introductory and conclusion). Your last page will have the word References centered at the top.

All sources used, including the museum, must be cited and included on the reference page. When you use a statement from any outside source, you need to credit the source in this format: (last name of author (s), year) at the end of the sentence before the period 

   

Assignment 1: Crisis Management

PR Crisis Plan:

A proper PR plan should always include a PR crisis plan. For this assignment, you are tasked with putting one together.

Scenario:

As Rock Pic School prepares to open its doors to out-of-state students, a rumor is being circulated that out-of-state students are being given preferential treatment in the admissions process, including lower tuition fees and priority enrollment. The rumors are not true; however, the school is now facing a serious issue. While it is looking to expand enrollment of out-of-state students, it is still 100% dependent on in-state students for enrollment. If the rumor persists and decreases enrollment from in-state students, the school risks falling substantially short of its enrollment targets.

Tasks:

Create a crisis management PR strategy for Rock Pic School. Your strategy should address the following:

• Explain the official position the school will take regarding the rumor.
• Identify the official spokesperson for the school.
• Draft a statement that will be read out by the school spokesperson.
• Describe at least three tactics the school will employ to communicate its official position to stakeholders.

Deliverable:

• Prepare a Microsoft Word document that includes all required elements listed above.

• Pick a topic/story of your choice
• Use Photoshop or iMovie to create a stop action video. You can use other programs for this assignment if you would rather use final cut pro or something else.
• Stop action movie must be at least 90 seconds, but can be longer
• Your movie should be at least 8 frames per second, this means that at the very least you need to take 720 pictures. You can use more frames per second if you’d like. The more pictures you take the better your video will look.
• Be aware of the horizontal or vertical orientation of your photos. They must be all the same, otherwise your video will look strange.
• As discussed in class parts of the movie can be slower and parts faster,  you can also omit sequential images to create a specific effect.
• Sound is optional but if there is no sound there should be a reason it doesn’t have sound, the viewer shouldn’t feel like we are missing something.

1. The actual line speed of the high quality 9'' grinding wheel shall not exceed the requirements of the following table.

• Identify at least two objectives you hope your PR strategy will achieve.
• Explain how each objective will be measured.
• Discuss when these objectives should be measured.
• Create a list of media targets (at least five) that should pick up a part or the whole of the story you have pitched regarding Rock Pic School.
